AusFoods is an expanded set of food descriptions that derives its nutrient data from AUSNUT 2011-13 (including the nutrient/component extensions) and from the new Australian Food Composition Database (AFCD).

You can think of AusFoods as a user friendly 'wrapper' to AUSNUT and the AFCD. The food descriptions are designed to be comprehensive and easy to use and understand, making AusFoods suitable for analysing dietary intake data.

AusFoods is developed by Xyris.

The following information applies to specific nutrients/components.

Salicylates, Amines and Glutamates

Values for salicylates, amines and glutamate for AusFoods 2019 have been provided by the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Allergy Unit, Sydney.

Nutrient and Component Extensions to AUSNUT 2011-13

Nutrient extensions made to AUSNUT 2011-13 flow through to AusFoods 2019. For more detail, copyright and citations about these extensions, see the information for the AUSNUT 2011-13 data source.
