In Nutrition Labelling, a raw material is a type of resource that you create for use as an ingredient in your recipes and sub recipes.
A raw material is a custom ingredient, generally sourced from an external supplier, for which you have nutrient values from the supplier's product specification sheet or from commissioned analyses.
Once created, like other resources, the raw material appears in the navigation pane.
When you create a raw material, supply its nutrient composition data either by basing its analysis on another similar item from the data sources or by entering nutrient data from the supplier's product specification sheet. You can also use a hybrid of these approaches, basing the analysis on another item and supplying data for selected nutrients.
You specify how the raw material is declared on labels – its label name, and whether it will be declared as a simple ingredient, compound ingredient, reconstituted ingredient, additive, processing aid or inedible component.
View the analyses for a raw material per 100g or by a custom gram amount. If the raw material is specified as a liquid, you can also see the analysis per 100mL.
When you make changes to a raw material, any resource using it is automatically updated.
