This feature list is for Foodworks Nutrition Labelling edition, Version 1 as released on 14 December 2022.

Workspaces

Create multiple workspaces for different projects or settings:

  • Create unlimited workspaces.

  • Favourite and unfavourite workspaces.

  • Share workspaces within your organisation.

  • Edit settings for a workspace (e.g. enable data sources).

Custom raw materials

When you create a raw material it becomes available for use as an ingredient in other resources, such as sub recipes and recipes.

  • Create and analyse unlimited foods.
  • Enjoy quick data entry with full editing capabilities.
  • Enter nutrient information – base on another similar food, enter data from another source, or do a combination of both.
  • Set the raw material declaration types including – simple ingredient, compound ingredient, reconstituted ingredient, additive, processing aid or inedible component. 
  • Add common measures.
  • Add volume measures for a liquid food.
  • Organise and search your foods using tags.
  • Add the raw material to an ingredient group. 

Custom sub recipes and recipes

When you create a sub recipe or recipe Foodworks dynamically updates the food label to comply with the Food Standards Code. 

  • Create and analyse unlimited sub recipes and recipes.
  • Enjoy quick data entry with full editing capabilities.
  • Enter nutrient information – calculate from recipes ingredients, base on another similar food, enter data from another source, or do a combination.
  • Set the recipe declaration types including – sub recipe or recipe, compound ingredient, additive, processing aid or inedible component. 
  • Set the HSR category. 
  • Set the serving size. 
  • Add common measures.
  • Add volume measures for a liquid recipe.
  • Add recipe method.
  • Organise and search your sub recipes and recipes using tags.
  • Add the recipe or sub recipe to an ingredient group. 

Health Star Ratings (HSR)

Generate nutrition labelling information dynamically from your recipes, including:

  • Automatically assign HSR. 
  • Calculate HSR from the recipes composition. 
  • Set HSR graphic option from HSR only, HSR + Energy or HSR + Energy + 3 prescribed nutrients. 
  • Add HSR QR code to label. 
  • Change the orientation of HSR graphics.
  • Download HSR assets.
  • Copy HSR graphic to clipboard. 
  • Bulk edit FVNL and CFV content in raw materials. 

Country of Origin Labelling (CoOL)

Generate CoOL statements that comply with the legislation, calculating the percentage of Australian content for your sub-recipes and final recipes, and helping you to formulate your text statements.

  • Calculate % Australian content. 
  • Set country of origin. 
  • Show standard marks including – kangaroo logo, percent Australian bar chart.
  • Change the orientation of CoOL graphics.
  • Download CoOL assets.
  • Copy CoOL graphic to clipboard. 
  • Bulk edit % Australian and Reconstitution factor for raw materials. 

Plain English Allergen Labelling (PEAL)

Prepare PEAL-compliant labels and ensure your allergen information is available to consumers to find quickly and easily. Foodworks ensures your allergen information is declared compliantly by using simple, plain English terminology and meeting the standardised formatting requirements

  • Calculate allergens for sub recipes and recipes. 
  • Display allergens in bold in the ingredients statement. 
  • Display allergen summary statement. 
  • Display precautionary allergen summary statement. 

Food labels 

Generate nutrition labelling information dynamically from your recipes, including:

  • Set the label general properties including – alternate label name, label description, serves per pack, serving size description, preparation instructions, storage instruction, messages, net weight. 
  • Select the nutrients to include in the Nutrition Information Panel.
  • Show % Daily Intake (%DI)
  • Show % Recommended Dietary Intake (%RDI) and % Estimated Safe and Adequate Daily Dietary Intake (%ESADDI). 
  • Set the characterising ingredients and components. 
  • Set the warning and advisory statements.
  • Set the shelf life.
  • Generate label PNGs.
  • Copy the label information to clipboard.
  • Publish the labelling information to CSV.
