Nutrition Labelling
Country of Origin Labelling (CoOL) tells consumers where a food was grown, produced, made or packed. Most food sold in Australia must carry a country of origin label, as set out in the Country of Origin Food Labelling Information Standard 2016.
Foodworks helps you create compliant CoOL labels. It calculates the percentage of Australian ingredients in your recipe, helps you write the origin statement, and provides the standard mark graphics for your labels. See Generating Country of Origin Labels.
Note
The requirements depend on the type of food. "Priority foods" generally need the full standard mark, including the kangaroo logo where applicable, while "non-priority foods", such as confectionery and alcoholic drinks, only need a text statement. For guidance, see ACCC: Country of origin food labelling.
