What is a meal plan?

This article applies to the following workspace types

Professional

A meal plan sets out the foods, drinks and dietary supplements planned for one or more days. Unlike a food record, which records what someone has eaten, a meal plan looks ahead.

You can create a meal plan for a specific client or for the whole workspace. A workspace meal plan can be copied to one or more clients, so you can reuse it as a template.

Analysing a meal plan

You can view a meal plan's analysis as:

  • Avg/day: the average intake per day
  • 1MJ: nutrients per megajoule of energy (nutrient density)
  • Total: the sum of everything in the meal plan

For a client's meal plan, you can also compare planned intake against the client's Nutrient Reference Values (NRVs) and custom goals. See Nutrient Reference Values explained.
