Nutrition Labelling
A processing aid is used during manufacture but doesn't perform a function in the final food, such as a release agent or a filtering aid. When you declare a raw material as a processing aid, it isn't shown in the ingredient list on your labels, but it still counts towards the recipe nutrition analysis.
Declare a raw material as a processing aid
- Open the raw material and click Edit.
- On the General tab, from the Label declaration dropdown, select Processing aid.
Changes save automatically. When you're ready, click Publish.
Allergens in processing aids
Under Plain English Allergen Labelling (PEAL), allergens in a processing aid must still be declared. Foodworks carries a processing aid allergens through to the label automatically, for example processing aid (oat). Make sure the raw materials allergens are set on its Nutrients tab.
