Create or edit a recipe or sub recipe

To create a recipe or sub recipe

  1. Open your workspace.
  2. Click Edit
  3. In the navigation pane, select Create new resource > Sub recipe or Recipe
  4. Enter a name for your sub recipe or recipe. (If you wish to use a different name on the product label, enter an alternative name on the Labelling tab.)
  5. If this recipe or sub recipe will be used as an ingredient in other recipes: From the Label declaration dropdown, select the type of label declaration. This affects how the recipe is declared on ingredient lists on labels. By default, Sub recipe or recipe is selected for you - don't change this if this is a final recipe.
  6. If you are using Health Star Ratings on the label for this recipe, select the HSR/NSPC category.
  7. Optional: Enter information for other fields on the General tab. (See Fields on the General tab below.)
  8. Changes are saved automatically. 

To complete entering data for the recipe or sub recipe

Click each tab (General, Ingredients, Method, Overrides, Measures, Labelling), work through the fields from top to bottom, and click Save:

  • On the Ingredients tab, enter the ingredients and their quantities. 
  • Optional: On the Ingredients tab, set retention factors for ingredients.
  • Optional: On the Ingredients tab, enter the serves and yield. 
  • Optional: On the Ingredients tab, type the method. The method does not affect the analysis.
  • Optional: On the Overrides tab, enter nutrient values to override the nutrient analyses calculated from the ingredients. 
  • Optional: On the Overrides tab, set attributes for this recipe or sub recipe, for example, vegan friendly.
  • Optional: On the Measures tab, enter common measures for this recipe or sub recipe, for example, slice.
  • On the Measures tab, for a liquid, also set the volumetric measures here. 
  • Optional: On the Labelling tab, specify the label for the recipe (see Design a label for a recipe or sub recipe – Overview).

To edit a recipe or sub recipe

  1. Open the recipe or sub recipe draft and make the necessary edits. If the recipe or sub recipe is a published version, you will first need to click Edit.
  2. Changes are saved automatically.

Fields on the General tab

Name
Enter the name of the recipe or sub recipe.
ID 1 and ID 2
Optional: Enter IDs for this recipe or sub recipe, these can be used as search terms for your foods later. 
Tags
Optional: Classify the recipe or sub recipe by tagging with an existing tag or creating a new tag. Click in the Tags box, then click Create tag
Label declaration
Leave as Recipe or sub recipe, or if this recipe or sub recipe will be used as an ingredient, select another label declaration.
HSR/NSPC Category
Optional: If you are using Health Star Ratings, select the HSR/NSPC category.
Description
Optional: Enter a description for this recipe or sub recipe. 
Note
Optional: Enter notes for this recipe or sub recipe.
Published
Timestamp showing when this food was first published.
Attach file
Optional: Upload and attach a file to this food resource. Accepted file formats include .csv, .doc, .xls, .xlsx, .pdf, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .gif.
Activity
A log of all the activity history for this food resource, including editing and publishing history.
