Enter or edit measures for a recipe or sub recipe

This article applies to the following workspace types

Nutrition Labelling

A recipe or sub recipe's default measure is grams. On the Measures tab you can add common measures (such as a slice), copy measures from a similar item, or turn on volumetric measures (such as mL and L).

Any measures you add are listed when you use the recipe or sub recipe as an ingredient in another recipe or sub recipe.

Add a common measure

  1. Open the recipe or sub recipe and click Edit.
  2. On the Measures tab, click + Add measure.
  3. In the Create measure dialog, enter a Name and the Weight in grams.
  4. Optional: Turn on Default to list this measure first when the recipe is used as an ingredient.
  5. Optional: Enter any Notes.
  6. Click Create.

Repeat to add more measures. To delete a measure, tick the checkbox on its row and click Delete.

Copy measures from a similar item

  1. Open the recipe or sub recipe and click Edit.
  2. On the Measures tab, click Copy measures & VCF.
  3. Search for and select a similar item.
  4. Click Confirm.

This copies the item's measures and its volume conversion factor (VCF), which converts between millilitres and grams.

Turn on volumetric measures

  1. Open the recipe or sub recipe and click Edit.
  2. On the Measures tab, turn on Liquid if it is a liquid. This also turns on Volumetric measures and lets you view the analysis per 100mL. If it isn't a liquid but you want to measure it by volume (such as a sauce base or batter), turn on Volumetric measures only.
  3. Enter a volume in millilitres and its weight in grams. For example, 100mL = 115g.

Changes save automatically. When you're ready, click Publish.
