When you create a recipe or sub recipe, by default its measure is grams.

You can make more measures available for the recipe on its Measures tab. Here, you can add common measures (such as slice) or import the measures from another similar item. If this recipe is a liquid, you can also enable volumetric measures (such as mL and L).

To add a common measure

  1. Open the recipe or sub recipe.
  2. Click Edit
  3. On the Measures tab, click + Add measure.
  4. Enter the name of the common measure and the corresponding weight.
  5. Optional: To make this measure the default, select the Default measure checkbox.
  6. Optional: Enter a description for the measure.
  7. Optional: Add another measure using these steps.
  8. Changes are saved automatically. When you are satisfied with this draft, click Publish

Now, when you enter this recipe or sub recipe into another recipe or sub recipe as an ingredient, its common measures are listed for you to select from. If you mark a measure as the Default measure it will display as the first quantity option to select from.
